We hope you’re enjoying summer break and staying cool! This month, we have reminders for July dates and deadlines (including Summer Session II), important information for families whose students are participating in the second round of housing selection, and reminders for the return to campus in August–we can hardly wait!

As a reminder, incoming students who would like to request a disability-related accommodation must submit requests and supporting documentation by July 1 via the housing portal. If you have a disability that could impact your housing and/or dining needs, please document those through our housing and dining accommodations request and submit them by the July 1 deadline. Some students want to try college without those accommodations and later discover they wished they’d had the accommodation from the beginning. Our ability to meet a student’s needs is much more limited after housing assignments have been made, so we strongly encourage students to request accommodations by the July 1 deadline.

Housing selection for Summer Session II opens on June 17. Students participating in Summer Session II and living on campus will move into their summer housing assignment on Monday, July 8, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. As a reminder, students living on campus for Summer Session II and the 2024-25 Academic Year will transition to their 2024-2025 housing assignment on Monday, August 12.

For those students who chose not to and/or were unable to select a bed during our initial housing selection process, the second round of selection will occur on Wednesday, July 10. As a reminder (from go.wfu.edu/housingselection):

“All students who are required to live in campus housing, but do not select during the first round of housing selection, are automatically placed on the list to select during the second round… During the second round of selection, students can plan to select a single bed or to look for open doubles in a roommate group of two people.”

If your student has not yet selected housing for the coming year, ensure they have thought about any potential roommates and are checking their email for selection times and final reminders ahead of this process.

As we look ahead to August, move-in dates for undergraduate students are listed in our Opening and Closing Dates for the 2024-25 Academic Year

Housing assignments for the Class of 2028 will be available by July 31. Please remind your student to keep an eye on their ‘@wfu.edu’ email address, as this information, as well as many other important emails, will begin to arrive ahead of their first move to campus.

We hope you continue to have a restful and restorative break! As always, if you have any questions, we’re available during the week at 336.758.5185 or housing@wfu.edu.
