Huffman Residence Hall, an original Reynolda Campus structure built in 1955 and renovated most recently in 2017, is named for Frank O. Huffman, a 1901 Wake Forest College graduate from Morganton, North Carolina, whose friends and family honored his memory with philanthropy that made the facility possible.

The leaves on the crest are inspired by the former corporate logo of Drexel Furniture Company, the family business that Huffman served as president. Drexel ran three major plants and spawned several additional brands during its century-long operation. Huffman died in 1935 at the age of 53. As the College was preparing to move from Wake Forest to Winston-Salem, the family organized efforts to make a gift in his memory.
