We hope you’re enjoying summer break and staying cool! This month, we have reminders for July dates and deadlines (including Summer Session II), important information for families whose students are participating in the second round of housing selection, and reminders for the return to campus in August–we can hardly wait!

Disability-Related Accommodations: Due July 1

As a reminder, incoming students who would like to request a disability-related accommodation must submit requests and supporting documentation by July 1 via the Housing Portal. Some students want to try college without those accommodations and later discover they wished they’d had the accommodation from the beginning. Our ability to meet a student’s needs is much more limited after housing assignments have been made, so we strongly encourage students to request accommodations by the July 1 deadline.

Summer School Session 2: Move-In July 7

Housing selection for Summer Session 2 opens on June 17, 2025. Students participating in Summer Session 2 and living on campus will move into their summer housing assignment on Monday, July 7, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

As a reminder, students living on campus for Summer Session 2 and the 2025-26 Academic Year will transition to their 2025-2026 housing assignment on Monday, August 11, and must be present on this day to make that transition.

Second Round of Housing Selection: July 16

For those students who chose not to and/or were unable to select a bed during our initial housing selection process, the second round of selection will occur on Wednesday, July 16 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. EST.

As a reminder (from our website):

“Any student under the residency requirement who did not select during Housing Selection during the April process or is an incoming transfer student is automatically placed into the second round. The Second Round of Housing Selection is a planned and regular part of our assignment process and occurs each year. During this process, students may, based on availability, choose: a single room, a double room with a roommate of choice, or a remaining bedspace in a double (with an existing roommate).”

If your student has not yet selected housing for the coming year, ensure they have thought about any potential roommates and are checking their email for selection times and final reminders ahead of this process.

Incoming Student Housing Assignments: By July 31

Incoming students will receive their housing assignments in two phases during July. On July 11, students will learn which residence hall they’ve been assigned to. In late July, they’ll receive their specific room assignment and roommate details, if applicable. Please encourage your student to regularly check their ‘@wfu.edu’ email, as important updates, including housing details and other key information, will be sent there throughout the summer.
