Good Morning –

We are so excited to learn that you’ll be joining us at Wake this fall!

As a new student, you have access to Wake Forest’s new student guide (aka the New Students website), your survival guide to transitioning to your new home away from home. Make a note to begin checking your WFU email regularly at this point (at least once a day, if not more frequently), in order to be up-to-date on the latest events, opportunities, and important dates.

As you begin to prepare for your transition, be sure to review our First-Year and Transfer student checklists for your essential tasks.

Because of your admission from the waitlist, there are a few important updates for you to be aware of:

HOUSING

  • Students admitted before July 1 should proceed to complete their housing and dining application on the Housing Portal (go.wfu.edu/housingportal) as soon as possible by the July 1 deadline.

  • Students admitted after July 1 will still need to complete their housing and dining applications; however, the preferences indicated may not be able to be taken into consideration. In that scenario, your housing will be randomly assigned from remaining inventory.

  • Students enrolled from the waitlist will not receive a community assignment (i.e. which building you’ll live in) on July 11, as indicated on our websites. Instead, these students will be processed in later waves of our housing processes and should expect updates on their housing assignments by the end of July.

Catch up on messages previously by Residence Life and Housing HERE and learn more about your first year in The Forest – including details on move-in, what to bring, etc. – HERE.

PRE-ORIENTATION

Students enrolling from the waitlist will find that some of our Pre-Orientation programs have already reached capacity. You can view which programs are full, which have waitlists, and which still have spaces available here. Please note that after June 30, students will no longer be able to register for Pre-Orientation programs.

MOVE-IN

  • For those confirmed to attend a Pre-Orientation program, you’ll move in based on the details available on the Residence Life and Housing website.

  • International students not participating in Pre-Orientation programs must move in on Tuesday, August 19, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. EST.

  • All other new students (including transfers) will move in on Wednesday, August 20, check-in will be available between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

    • Move-in assistance will be available between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and all students are asked to move in by 1 p.m.

ORIENTATION
New Deac Week Orientation (mandatory for all new and transfer students)

  • Following move-in, New Deac Welcome Week (aka Orientation) will begin on Wednesday, August 20, and conclude with the start of classes on Monday, August 25. Additional information will be available on the New Students website in late June.
