Second Round of Housing Selection
July 2026 Housing Selection
Any continuing or transfer student who is under the residency requirement and enrolled or re-enrolled after April 10 and before July 1 will participate in our Second Round of Housing selection and will receive communication from our office regarding that process. Students enrolled after July 1 will be contacted by our office to discuss options and then manually assigned.
This year, the Second Round of Housing Selection will occur Wednesday, July 15, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. EST. Our Assignments team will be available via email, the live chat feature on our website, or over phone to assist students as needed.
Selection times and an updated availability list will be made available to those students participating in the Second Round of Housing Selection on Friday, July 10, 2025.
During this process, students may, based on availability, choose: a single room, a double room with a roommate of choice, or a remaining bedspace in a double (with an existing roommate).
Frequently Asked Questions
Throughout the summer, spaces open up across campus for various reasons. These spaces and those not selected during Housing Selection are made available during the Second Round of Housing Selection.
If your plans have changed and you are no longer planning on attending Wake Forest University for Fall 2026, please let us know and contact the Office of Academic Advising to ensure you’ve completed all steps to depart the University officially.
Your number of housing credits determines your selection time. To maintain the equity of our overall process, rising sophomores will select first, followed by rising juniors, and then rising seniors. This is the same structure we followed in the first round of Housing Selection in April 2026.
Single rooms are not guaranteed, and you should anticipate a limited number of singles to be available.
The largest roommate group is 2, meaning you may select a double room with a roommate of choice, but you will not be able to choose entire units.
You may only group with other students who are participating in the Second Round of Housing Selection.
Roommate pairs should be prepared to split up; depending on availability, they may have to select individually.
If you would like your information shared with other students who might be looking for roommates, please complete this form.
Anyone who does not select housing during the Second Round of Housing Selection will be assigned by our Assignments Team beginning Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Our Assignments team assigns the Base Meal Plan and an Estimated Housing Charge for the upcoming academic year for all students who have not met the residency requirement.
During the Second Round of Housing Selection, you will have the opportunity to change this meal plan, and once you select housing, the Estimated Housing Charge will be replaced based on your selection.
Should you need disability-related housing accommodations, please review our process at rlh.wfu.edu/accommodations and begin your request in the Housing Portal at go.wfu.edu/housingportal. The deadline for all requests – including supporting documentation- to be reviewed before the second round is June 1, 2026. If you are admitted after June 1, please contact our office about your request.
- Please note that our ability to meet recommended accommodations at this point in our processes is based on available inventory.
- A release from the University’s residency requirement is not considered a reasonable accommodation and should not be submitted as an accommodation request. Requests should be specific about the type of housing accommodation needed.
