Our purpose is to partner with our students on their journey to create a home here in The Forest.

Within our residential experience, we will curate an environment in which students can make their home – a home where living and learning are inseparable. We want each student to have the freedom to be exactly who they are and explore who they want to be, surrounded by the resources necessary to reach their full potential.

The Pillars of The Forest

These focus areas help guide the programming efforts within The Forest.

  • Personal Development: Encourage students to create a home at Wake Forest by embracing and cultivating a personally enriching sense of identity, balance, and wellbeing.
  • Life of the Mind: Promote in students a commitment to lifelong learning through curiosity about the workings of the world and the lives and experiences of other people.
  • Community & Belonging: Develop in students an openness to difference, diverse knowledge, community with others, meaningful relationships, and respect for the many ways of living the human experience.
  • Pro Humanitate: Educate and develop leaders of character, integrity, and courage who embody Pro Humanitate.

Our Department Values

These values help guide our work as a department.

  • Collaboration: Strategically advance collaboration within RL&H and among the Wake Forest community to advance goals.
