Living on Campus
Once you arrive on campus, there are many important services you can utilize. Besides the information listed below, Campus Resources and Local Area Info will also help you get acquainted with the WFU campus and the Winston-Salem area.
Wake Forest Post Office

The Post Office is a full-service mail, packaging, and shipping center located in the Benson University Center, Room 101. Box rental is included in the room rent payment. Remember, do not lose the key; it costs $10 to replace. You can access your box with your key during the following times:

Saturday – Sunday 11 a.m. - Midnight
You will NOT be able to access your box when the University is closed for Holidays

All residence hall rooms are equipped with a land-line telephone jack connection. You can request to have local telephone service and voice mail activated in your room by contacting the Information Systems Service Desk. Activation of this service will provide local dial service for the campus and the Winston-Salem community, call waiting, caller ID and voicemail. To make a request, after arrival to campus, students living in residence halls must send an email message to the Information Systems Service Desk that includes their name, building, and room number. Long-distance telephone service is not provided. Students must bring their own phone. Cordless phones (2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz) interfere with the campus wireless network and are not allowed on campus. The on-campus housing package includes select HDTV channels and 80 cable television stations as part of the campus cable TV network. You must bring your own television. An off- air high-definition receiver or QUAM tuner and compatible television are required to view the HDTV channels. Cable channel 6 is student-run WAKE-TV, which features various student programming. Channels 20 and 22 carry SCOLA and SCOLA2, nonprofit educational services that feature television programming from more than 50 different countries in their original languages.

Facilities – Laundry rooms are located in each residence hall and are open 24 hours a day. Washers and dryers may be used at no cost to residents. The on campus washers and dryers are high efficiency and the appropriate high efficient (he) detergent should be used. For your convenience, visit www.laundryview.com to view available washers and dryers.
If you are planning to travel to Wake Forest by air, we suggest that you make arrangements with the nearest major airport, the Piedmont Triad International Airport, located in Greensboro. Transportation from the airport to Wake Forest is provided by Central Piedmont Transportation (CPT) (1-877-796-limo). Vans depart every hour on the hour from the airport to the campus after all scheduled flights. Currently, the cost of this shuttle service is $35.50 per person. The CPT service counter is located in the baggage claim area on the lower level of the airport terminal. Shuttles run from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m., seven days a week.
