Cold Weather Alert – Please Keep Windows Closed

Winston-Salem may experience below freezing temperatures this evening.   All residence hall students should be aware of the consequences of having windows open during times of below freezing temperatures.  When the windows are left open, the heating and cooling units are forced to work harder than intended causing various heating and cooling problems.  Pipes can also freeze when exposed to outside temperatures resulting in water flow out of the units and into student rooms.  In the past this has caused damage, not only to student property in the offending room, but in rooms below as well.  Please be aware of…

Dear Student, Over the winter break, Facilities and Campus Services installed new energy saving thermostats for the Student Apartments air conditioning and heating systems. Facilities and Campus Services also performed annual maintenance that included cleaning of air conditioning/heating units, ductwork, and replacement of system filters.
