The RL&H Meal-Packing event is an opportunity for students to work together as groups to pack 20,000 meals that will be shipped to an international location through the organization, Stop Hunger Now (http://www.stophungernow.org/site/PageServer). Stephanie Ganser, Residence Life Coordinator, North Campus and Adviser to the Resident Student Association (RSA) accompanied RSA members, Jay Pearson and Alex Spancake to the annual No-Frills conference March 16 through 18 at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia. No- Frills is the SAACURH regional business conference. All SAACURH member schools meet to discuss regional business, decide winners for over 15 SAACURH awards, elect the new SAACURH Executive Committee (SEC), and network. No-Frills is called “No-Frills” because the conference is very business oriented but fun at the same time. “Eat. Meet. Sleep.”

Bill Yost, Associate Director of Housing and Frank Shelton, Deacon OneCard Manager were asked by Stanford University to present at their Higher Education Lenel Users Conference on electronic physical security, March 12-14, 2012. Yost and Shelton spoke about Wake Forest University’s recent card access system upgrade to proximity card reader technology. They also spoke about the challenges and benefits of the project. Attendees at the conference included representatives from Cornell University, Arizona State University, University of Alberta, Emory University, and University of Southern California, among others.
